November 8th, 2009: Two new broadsides in our online portfolio
We recently designed and printed broadsides for Timothy Egan and Michael Chabon, which were commissioned by Rakestraw Books in honor of readings by the authors. Each broadside was printed in a limited edition of 110 copies, all of which were signed by the authors and available only at their respective readings.

September 14th, 2009: Volta Press & Beeswax Magazine event on 9/22!
Beeswax Magazine -- the literary journal lovingly produced by Volta Press -- is excited to announce Books Unbound, a multimedia reading and presentation outside on the front steps of the Berkeley Public Library. There's an amazing lineup of artists and writers bringing you everything from comics and illustrations to poetry and collaborative work, all projected onto a giant screen in the front of the library. Come soak up the literariness and support your local writers!

August 29th, 2009: Volta Press takes over the Berkeley Public Library
Volta Press is pleased to announce Books Unbound, a letterpress and bookmaking exhibit at the Berkeley Public Library in downtown Berkeley. The exhibit runs September 1-14, and will feature a different issue of Beeswax Magazine in each of the library's five glass display cases. The month's events will also include an artists' reception and an outdoor reading. All events are FREE and open to the public!

Books Unbound exhibit: September 1-14 in display cases throughout the library. (NOTE: The library will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, September 7th.)

Artists' Reception: Saturday, September 5th, 2-3pm in the Historic Lobby. Meet Beeswax editors Laureen Mahler and John Peck and browse a selection of books and wares from Volta Press.

Outdoor Reading: Tuesday, September 22nd, 8pm on the front steps of the library. This multimedia presentation will include readings from Beeswax contributors, music, and visual works projected on a large screen.

June 21st, 2009: New designs in the works
It's solstice time, which means we're officially ready to celebrate summer... by working on our new letterpress portfolio!
